Setting the Stage for a Stellar 2020 Schedule at Peterborough Speedway

From the very young to the young at heart, a Saturday night trip to Peterborough Speedway tops the list for family entertainment in Central Ontario. The promotional team at the venue known as Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval is working hard to get things ready for the 2020 kick-off and the annual Pure Country 105 season opener – featuring free spectator grandstand admission – Saturday, May 16th.

“Drivers and teams do their best to put together some terrific equipment for a great show at the track, but the real superstars of this sport are the fans who support what we do week-after-week,” said track owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse. “We see generations of familiar faces and growing families come through the gates every season. That type of business loyalty is rare and something that needs to be rewarded.”

Josiasse says the ultimate reward is a schedule that offers the local faithful the best value for their entertainment dollar, starting with the hometown Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, KOD Disposal Super Stock and Late Model divisions. Add a variety of special guest classes; including the Ontario Legends, Ontario Sportsman Series, Ontario Pro Challenge, OSCAAR Hot Rods and Modifieds and Can-Am TQ Midgets during the regular season and that’s just for starters.

“Again this year, we’ll wrap-up the year with the Autumn Colours Classic, presented by Lucas Oil Products,” said Josiasse. “The 2020 running – the 28th annual edition of the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing – is slated for October 9th, 10th and 11th and features close to 10 different classes of racing over Thanksgiving Weekend and the perfect way to conclude an amazing calendar of short track excitement at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road.”

Peterborough Speedway’s new schedule will be officially announced during the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo – March 13th through 15th  – at the International Centre. Track officials will be on hand throughout the weekend to meet with fans and answer questions about the upcoming season.
