Peterborough Speedway’s 2016 Championship Charge Hits Full Speed

IMG_4048 (2)Nearly 100 racers – spread across the track’s different weekly divisions – entered the season’s action at Peterborough Speedway with the goal of being a 2016 track champion. In just 2 weeks, five names will see their motorsports dreams become reality as Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval crowns the year’s best in the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Paul Davis Systems Thunder Car and Earl Ireland Auto Sales Late Model divisions.

Saturday, August 27th the Hot August Nights Racing Series finale will see the Mini Stock, Renegade Truck, Thunder Car and Late Model teams hit the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City to build on their season point totals. The popular home track classes will be joined by the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series in an event track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says could be a deal maker or a dream breaker.

“Across the board, our point races are incredibly tight,” said Josiasse. “Planning and preparation – combined with just the right amount of racing luck – could make the difference between earning the seat of honour at the season-ending award’s banquet and seeing a division rival accept the championship hardware you’d been hoping for.”

For the second-to-last night of regular season action on Peterborough Speedway’s current calendar, pit gates will open at 3:00 with the spectator grandstands unlocked at 5:00 and racing getting underway with the first Great Canadian RV green flag at 6:00.
