Lucas Oil Products Summer Kick-Off Brings the Hot Action to Peterborough Speedway

A new season has arrived and its time to turn up the heat at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road. The action is back on the track – with the Summer Kick-Off, presented by Lucas Oil Products – Saturday, June 29th at Peterborough Speedway. Central Ontario race fans will see the best family motorsports entertainment around with the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Super Stock and Late Model divisions; plus a National Qualifier for the Trailers Plus Ontario Legends. Pit gates open at 2:30, with the general admission grandstands unlocked at 5:00 and the first qualifying heat at 6:00.

 

“I can’t think of anyone who isn’t happy to see that wet and rainy spring weather in the rear-view mirror,” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “We’ve placed an advance order to have some warm, dry forecasts for the rest of the season and the first delivery is expected to arrive this weekend.”

 

Looking ahead on the schedule to Saturday, July 6th finds 2019’s second Summer Toonie Night – presented by Pepsi – with main grandstand general admission tickets just $2.00. Racing that will feature the Bone Stock, Mini Stock and Super Stock classes, along the Outlaw Midgets and the Peterborough Speedway debut of the popular OSCAAR Hot Rod division. There are still several special events remaining on this year’s calendar, including the return of the Hoosier Racing Tire Outlaw Super Late Models, Saturday, July 20th. The OSCAAR Modifieds, Saturday, August 3rd and the 100 lap Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series date, Saturday, August 10th. Free schedules are available each week at the track concession stands or on the speedway web-site.

 

Every season’s marquee event is Thanksgiving Weekend’s Autumn Colours Classic. With close to 10 different classes in competition, this year’s 27th annual edition is slated for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 11th to 13th and is highlighted by the running of the Electric City 167, a 167 lap combined Late Model/Pro Late Model spectacular, with Canada’s top drivers.
