Gordon Leads Renegade Truck Points Heading to the Championship Clash

For a hobby, there is a lot of time, effort and financial resources that go into the sport of weekly short track auto racing.

During Peterborough Speedway’s 2022 season, Kyle Gordon’s hard work and dedication in the Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck paid dividends throughout the year with 3 feature event wins. After being named Rookie of the Year last year, the 22-year-old second-generation racer from Stouffville, Ontario – who currently leads the point standings – says he likes the position he’s in heading into the final night of the regular season.

“It’s great to be leading the points but there is still a lot that can happen before the final checkered flag waves,” Kyle Gordon said. “Looking at the standings, there is only a gap of 24 points back to 4th place. Everyone in the Renegade Truck field has been so strong this year and with it all on the line during the Saturday night event, there’s no telling what might happen.”

Gordon says he appreciates the support he and his No. 52 team have received during the year. With sponsorship backing from Just Hockey, BioSteel, Custom Steering and Speedy Auto Machine it has been a great season. The driver also wants to thank the support, encouragement and friendship he received from Larry Crowe Sr. throughout the different stages of his career.

For the final regular season event of the 2022 schedule – the Saturday, September 3rd Championship Clash – pit gates will open at 12:30, with the spectator grandstands unlocked at 3:00 and racing at 5:00. As always, full event details can be found at www.peterboroughspeedway.com and the track’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social media platforms.
