Autumn Colours Classic Satisfies Central Ontario’s Racing Hunger

Action and excitement are on the menu and there will be nothing left on the table as the Autumn Colours Classic, presented by Lucas Oil and Pure Country 105 returns to Peterborough Speedway. For close to 30 seasons, the event branded as the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing has been a Fall fixture at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval.

Fans and race teams are set to converge on the popular facility on Mount Pleasant Road October 8th to 10th to chase the honour and bragging rights that come with being crowned the 2021 champion in the close to 10 different racing divisions scheduled to hit the track. Speedway owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says that after having last year’s edition of the marquee event fall victim to provincial restrictions, everyone is excited to get the ball rolling.

“We’re ready to host a full course Thanksgiving Weekend motorsports buffet with all the trimmings,” Josiasse explained. “Our promotional team is putting the finishing touches on the schedule and we’ll make sure everything is ready to roll when we swing open the gates. Advance grandstand tickets for each day’s line-up or the entire weekend are still available at www.eventsprout.com/event/28th-annual-autumn-colours-classic-october-8-10-2021-2 or by checking the ‘buy tickets’ link on the track website.”

From the moment the first green flag flies – Friday, October 8th – the place will be rockin’ as the best in the business tackle the track. First round qualifying for the Bone Stock, Mini Stock, Super Stock, Legend; along with the OSCAAR Hot Rod and Modified divisions will open the weekend. The first night of action concludes with the annual Young Guns’ Mini Stock and Super Stock races, presented by APC Auto Parts for drivers 21 and 24 or under respectively. Spectator grandstand gates open at 5:00, with racing at 6:00
