Toonie Admission/Fan Appreciation Night is Up Next at Peterborough Speedway

Almost everyone has a stack of loose change hanging around the house or in the cup holder of your car. Before you collect it up for a deposit in the piggy bank, you should know that Saturday, July 6th is the year’s second Summer Toonie Night, presented by Pepsi – with $2.00 spectator grandstand admission – at Peterborough Speedway.

Central Ontario’s best family motorsports entertainment value is at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road and this weekend includes the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock and KOD Disposal Super Stock divisions. Also on the program will be the Outlaw Midgets and the debut of the popular OSCAAR Hot Rods at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval. There will also be a Fan Appreciation autograph session at intermission. Pit gates open at 1:30, with the spectator grandstands unlocked at 4:00 and racing at 5:00.

“We’ve always had a loyal, supportive fan base and our Summer Toonie Nights are a great way to introduce new people to the sport,” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “The younger ones in the crowd enjoy the chance to see and touch the racecars, while the drivers look forward to meeting the people they see in the grandstands cheering for them at every race.”

Looking ahead to Saturday, July 13th on the schedule finds the Mid-Season Bash, presented by Country 105. Headline action includes the home track Bone Stock, Renegade Truck, Super Stock and Late Model divisions; plus the return of the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series and timed spectator laps with King of the Hill at intermission. Select the ‘schedule’ drop-down menu on the track web-site for complete event details.

While you’re there, be sure to check for information on some upcoming special shows featuring the Hoosier Tire Outlaw Super Late Models, OSCAAR Modifieds, Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series and the thrilling Championship Clash. After a wet and rainy start to the 2019 season, there is still plenty of exciting racing still to come at Central Ontario’s favourite race place.
