They’re Turning Up the Heat Saturday Night at Peterborough Speedway

Its time to get ready for the season kick-off at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval.

Peterborough Speedway is ready to launch its 2023 line-up – Saturday, May 20th – with the Pure Country 105 Season Opener, featuring free spectator grandstand admission. This year’s home track lid-lifter includes the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock, Jiffy Lube Super Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck and KOD Disposal Late Model divisions, plus the Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series.

“We’ve put together an impressive schedule and just like the fans, drivers and race teams, our staff can’t wait to get things rolling,” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “There will be a string of 16 straight Saturday nights of regular season racing, with a variety of special guest divisions to compliment our weekly programs.”

Heading into the 57th consecutive season of action at the popular facility on Mount Pleasant Road, there will be several changes on the track and behind the scenes. Peterborough Speedway will feature new sponsorships for some of the weekly divisions, with returning backers lending their support for different classes. It was also recently announced that after years of planning and discussion, the Turn 4 Beer Garden will become a fixture at the track in 2023. J.P. Josiasse says that even though there are changes, some things will always remain the same.

“We’ll continue to offer our supporters the best possible race fan experience in Central Ontario,” explained Josiasse. “This looks like an exciting season across the board. We’re looking forward to breaking the seal and hoping for a great 2023 schedule of action here at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval.”

For the Pure Country 105 Season Opener – featuring free spectator grandstand admission – Saturday, May 20th at Peterborough Speedway, pit gates will open at 12:30, with grandstands at 3:00 and first green flag of the new season at 5:00.
