THE TRADITION CONTINUES

2011 will see the 19th running of the Autumn Colours Classic. Over the past decade a name that has become synonymous with the Autumn Colours Classic is Lucas Oil. Over the past years Lucas Oil has worked hand in hand with the staff at Peterborough Speedway to grow the Autumn Colours to the event know presently as “The Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing”. Peterborough Speedway president JP Josiasse is pleased to announce on the release of the 2011 schedule that Lucas Oil is once again the Title sponsor of the Autumn Colours Classic.

“We are thrilled to continue the relationship with Lucas Oil to bring fans and racers alike the best short track racing in the province this Thanksgiving weekend….The Autumn Colours” stated JP Josiasse. “This releationship with Lucas Oil helps to continue to grow the Autumn Colours to an even higher level, and create an even greater awareness for Lucas Oil’s vast line of superior products”.

The 2011 season will also see Lucas Oil present The Chase for The Colours on Sunday July 3, a pre qualifier for the Autumn Colours where the top finishers in each division receive provisional starting spots at the Autumn Colours. Detailed information will be released at a later date.

The Autumn Colours will run off from Friday Oct 7, toSunday Oct 9, 2011. And as in past years the team at Peterborough Speedway works hard to improve on the previous running of the event. Promoter JP Josiasse states; “the colours is always a work in progress, every year we sit down after the event and make a list of items we weren’t happy with and then set out to improve on them”. As anyone who has attended the event can contest to it is a massive undertaking, and the team that has been assembled over the years does an excellent job in dealing with whatever is throw at them. JP’s philosiphy of“ There are never problems just opportunities” will continue to improve and grow the event.

As the 2011 season approaches and cars once again hit the high banks of Peterborough Speedway we will continue to update fans and racers with changes to the running of the 19th Autumn Colours Classic.
