Peterborough Speedway Super Stocks to Carry the KOD Disposal Brand in 2019

Since the sport’s inception, friendship has been a vital proponent of weekly stock car racing. In Central Ontario, its only fitting that one of Peterborough Speedway’s nearest geographic neighbours – Kawartha Outdoor Décor – continues to be one of the track’s closest friends, with the announcement that the Super Stock division will carry the KOD Disposal branding for the 2019 season.

At the intersection of County Road 28 and Mount Pleasant Road, Kawartha Outdoor Décor has been part of the regional landscape, with the KOD Disposal arm of the business providing professional snow removal and bin rental services for close to a dozen years. Company owner/operator Jeff Drimmie says the opportunity to be involved as a class sponsor at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval is a wonderful opportunity.

“We’re always looking for ways to expand our brand and this is a great step,” Jeff Drimmie admitted. “Our name has been associated with the track clean-up crew for the past several seasons, so we’ve obviously seen a good exposure from our involvement at the track. Our company is excited to be part of this new chapter for the Super Stock teams and I can’t wait for opening night.”

Drimmie and Peterborough Speedway owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse have  joined forces and come-up with an exciting promotion that could see a Super Stock feature winning driver add the $500 KOD Disposal Bullring Bonus added to their payout for the night. During 5 random events, the evening’s top 3 qualifiers will have the chance to start the main event from the tail of the field. If all 3 agree to go to the rear of the field and one of them wins, that driver will take home the additional cash.

“It’ll add an edge to the show and create some extra excitement for the fans and race teams,” Josiasse said. “Any time you can offer a racer a chance to win some extra cash, it’s a good thing. I’m sure our drivers will be thrilled to take home the bonus money.”

The 2019 schedule at Peterborough Speedway gets underway with the Country 105 Season Opener – featuring free spectator grandstand admission – Saturday, May 18th. Pit gates open at 12:30, with general admission access at 3:00 and racing at 5:00.
