in the Battlefield Equipment 4Funs, the night saw #34 Kevin Strutt coming in to tonight with 74 point lead over #19 Ember Junkin. The victory for tonights race went to Bill Goddard in the #2. With a first time champion of #34 Kevin Strutt.
The night was cold, but the competition in the Parry Springs Renegade Trucks was HOT! The night belonged to Andy McCann (#12) for winning the feature race, and defending his championship.
One of the most competitive series of racing in Ontario is the Peterborough Hyundai Mini Stocks with only 27 points seperating #44 Daryl Fice, #41 Tyler Junkin, and #07 Alex Lees. All three of these races have become a dominating force in this class at every track in southern Ontario. But Canada’s Toughest & Fastest 1/3 Mile Oval is home. In his 3rd year of racing, #44 Daryl Fice pulled of not just another win, but his first Championship of which we are sure will be many in this young racer’s career.
The Peterborough Speedway Late Models, have some of the finest racers in Canada, Racers that are never afraid of the danger involved in wheeling hundreds of horsepower around a tight high bank oval. The Crowe Brother’s racing team came this year with a mission; a Championship! But they would have to battle it out on the track with some other race teams with the same idea. The Feature race saw this battle the 29 of Brian Sudsbury winning his first feature race ever, but the night belonged to a driver that said if was ever going to win a late model championship, he wanted it to be at Canada’s fastest and toughest 1/3 mile oval. Jeff Bell got his wish when he parked the #66 in the Champion’s victory lane!
Next weekend is the grand daddy of them all, the Super Bowl of Canadian Short Track Racing: the 19th Annual running of the Lucas Oil Autumn Colours Classic starting Friday till Sunday. See You at the track.
