Jiffy Lube Continues its Sponsorship of Peterborough Speedway Mini Stocks

When it comes to edge of your seat short track stock car racing excitement, fans at Peterborough Speedway know a good thing when they see it. The venue known as Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval will kick-off its 51st consecutive season of Saturday night thrills on Victoria Day Weekend. With the new schedule less than a couple of months away, track owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse says they’re happy to have Jiffy Lube return as the title sponsor of the Mini Stock division.

 

“The support we receive from local businesses, products and services has been a big part of Peterborough Speedway’s success,” Josiasse said. “The team at the Jiffy Lube location in Peterborough has partnered with the track for 3 seasons now and has found that having their corporate identity on the car has been a very productive arrangement from both sides of the coin.”

 

Jiffy Lube has been known as the oil change champions since 1979. The 2018 schedule at Peterborough Speedway leaves the staging area with the Country 105 Season Opener – featuring free spectator grandstand admission – Saturday, May 19th. On track action will include the hometown Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Super Stock and Late Model divisions, along with the Eastern Ontario Legends. Pit gates will open at 12:30, with spectator gates unlocked at 3:00 and the year’s first green flag at 5:00.

 

Throughout the year, the track will host a series of 50 lap main events for the weekly divisions. First on the grid will be an extra distance ‘A’ main – Saturday, June 2nd – for the Late Models. The Mini Stock teams get their turn in the spotlight Saturday, June 23rd, with the Super Stock and Bone Stock extended length feature tilts Saturday, July 7th and August 11th respectively.
