Get a Great Night of Family Entertainment for a Toonie at Peterborough Speedway
Central Ontario’s best entertainment value can be found at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval. Saturday, July 8th Peterborough Speedway hosts the year’s second Toonie Spectator Grandstand Admission/Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Pepsi. On track action features the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Thunder Car and Organics & Glass Late Model divisions; plus, the Trailers Plus Eastern Ontario Legends, with a driver autograph session at intermission.
“We call it ‘Fan Appreciation’, but it’s a great night for drivers, teams and sponsors too,” said J.P. Josiasse, Peterborough Speedway’s owner and track promoter. “Everyone gets a chance to share in the experience of seeing how popular a night at the race track is. Anyone who comes through the gate has someone they cheer for through good times or bad and we’re giving them the opportunity to get up-close and personal with the machines they’ve been watching from the grandstands.”
The Eastern Ontario Legends’ 30 lap main event offers extra prize money throughout the finishing order and the best in the Pro, Semi-Pro and Masters divisions will earn guaranteed starting spots for the ‘A’ mains in the US Legends Asphalt Nationals – October 13th and 14th – at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring. This will be the first time Peterborough Speedway has hosted a National Qualifying event for the Legends. Saturday, July 8th, pit gates will open at 2:00, with the general admission grandstands unlocked at 4:00 and the night’s first green flag at 5:00.
In weeks to come, the Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun teams will have a 50th Anniversary 50 lap main event Saturday, July 15th. The show will also feature Thunder Car, the Organics & Glass Late Model, Eastern Ontario Legend and Ontario Modifieds Series action. Saturday, July 22nd Country 105 presents the Mid-Summer Bash, with a 50 lapper for the Thunder Cars. Also on the schedule will be the Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Late Model and Modified divisions.
