A Turn of Events
Saturday night turned out to be one of those nights that nobody could have predicted. All the talk was about the 100-lap Late Model Feature race. The past few weeks have been a crash fest in this series and lots of cars have been sidelined while repairs are happening. Like any other track a 100 lap race draws in some new faces who have their eyes on the big pay cheque for winning, so most of us were wondering how many would survive the race based on the previous weeks. At the green the strangest thing happened, they just raced, it was clean racing and nothing major happened, just good racing. Unfortunately the same isn’t the case in some of the other series. A wild wreck in the mini’s almost saw two cars exit the track over the turn three wall. Track staff actually had to hold one car while the driver exited because of fears it would roll down the track. In the Legends a front stretch wreck had parts flying everywhere and saw a couple of cars out for the rest of the night. Over all it was a great night of racing and the stands are filling up more and more each week which is great to see. Congratulations to Craig Graham for winning the big feature. It’s always great to see one of the guys who are there week in and week out to win the big ones. Also congrats to Trevor Logan (Four Fun), Andrew Swidells (Mini Stocks) and Andy Warbutton (Legends) for winning their features as well.
