Dodging the weather bullet yet again
Another weekend approached and another forecast of rain. It has happened a few times this year and again many tracks in eastern Ontario cancelled their race programs with the impending bad weather approaching. Peterborough Speedway again thought lets wait and see, and it’s a darn good thing. Even with a few black clouds north and allot of them to the south the cars lined up for racing. A little more than 3 hours later the only thing that had fallen was allot of checkered flags, and we even managed to get 50 or more kids out for kids rides, many thanks to the Four Funs and Mini’s for helping give the kids a thrill. A few of the Cup Lites made the long trek from down south, and they put on a great show even though they were only a few in numbers. The 1/3 mile track seemed like a great place for these racecars, and they were turning some really fast laps. Hopefully the next time they come we’ll have more numbers because I’m sure they put on a great show. For our regular drivers it was a great night with almost no caution flags. Well at least till the Late Model feature. With points always on the line sometimes these folks push just a bit to hard and the ensuing wrecks are costly and really get the tempers going. The track workers do a great job of calming them down and getting back to the program. Congrats to Wayne Dewdney in the Four Fun Feature, Justin Bierworth in the Mini Stock, and Larry Crowe Jr in the Late Models for their feature wins. The forecast is bright and sunny for this weekend so come on out for an action packed night of racing.
