DRIVERS PUMPED FOR 2008 On Sunday December 2, 2007 Peterborough Speedway held its annual drivers meeting. Despite the weather a great group of drivers came out and we saw new registrations in all divisions. One of the highlights of the meeting was the introduction of a new class “Renegade Trucks”. This division owner/promoter JP Josiasse explained is a stepping stone between Mini Stocks and Late Model. “We had a void that we needed to fill since we stopped running Thunder cars on a full time basis, but also wanted to create something different for the fans and drivers. This new truck class is going to accomplish both” stated JP. The Renegade Trucks are a 4cyl truck, with racing suspension, Performance exhaust just to name a few. Appearance wise the trucks will be lowered, with aftermarket nose cones, rear spoilers giving them a unique look. Interest at the meeting was excellent with 6 drivers committing to the new division already. A number of issues where brought up at the meeting in regards to the 2008 rules, as soon as they are finalized a complete set of rules will be available online, in the mean time if you were unable to attend the meeting due to the weather fell free to contact the Speedway and the 2008 rules package can be mailed out to you.
