HARVEY BURLEY LOST BATTLE WITH CANCER We are saddened to inform that Harvey William Burley #3 Thunder, passed away at his home on Saturday Feb 24, 2007 after a battle with cancer. Our thoughts are with his Family and Friends. Harvey whose passion has been cars and racing for a long time joined the Thunder ranks in 2002 to fulfill a dream. In his first year he received Most improved driver and Rookie of the year Honors. He went on to compete for two more years moving all the way up to second in the points standings by 2004. Whenever or wherever Harvey was he would always be ready to lend a helping hand and always with a smile. Even when not racing he was always ready to help and never asked anything in return. For the past season he even donated his #3 Bus/car hauler for the Gauntlet races during the course of the summer, and that bus will once again take to the track for 2007. He will always be remembered at Peterborough Speedway for his smile and willingness to help anyone, and in his honour and memory we have established the Harvey Burley Memorial Award which will be awarded at the 2007 year end banquet to a person who goes out of their way to help others with a smile.
