Full Moon Weirdness

Some people say its only superstition that people act differently when there is a full moon and I tend to think most drivers change the moment they put a helmet on. It may just be the competitiveness of being a racecar driver. Whatever the reason, Saturday night racing at Peterborough had lots of action.
Although we had OSCAAR visiting again, I’ll stick with our own series and let them handle their own PR. All 3 of our regular series were running with the Late Models providing the most interesting part of the night.
In the Four Fun division we got to see a new face after the X car has dominated most of the season, with Lance Prentice in the 42 car winning one of his prelims and the feature race. I’m thinking it is Lance’s first of the year so congrats to him.
In the mini stock it was Tyler Junkin in the 41 car taking the top spot for the feature for the first time this season with Mike Wallace close on his heals. The battle went right to the last turn when Mike got under Tyler almost spinning him, but he recovered to capture the checkered.
Now I’m thinking if there was a 40 car in Late Model’s I could pick the winner even before the start, but there isn’t. So to make the race interesting it became a matter of survival. Although there wasn’t a huge field to start the race two huge pile-ups took care of most of the racers. Of the three cars that managed to avoid the wrecks Taylor Holdaway stayed out front to win the race, driving the 41 car. Now I’m thinking we needed a 41 car in the four fun division.
