50th Anniversary Season Excitement Continues at Peterborough Speedway

With special events and activities planned for throughout the calendar, the promotional team at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval is pulling out all the stops to make the 50th Anniversary Season at Peterborough Speedway a memorable experience for fans and race teams across the province. Track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says they’re looking to continue the momentum that started with a great show on opening night.

“We had some incredible car counts across the board, with close to 100 entries in the 6 classes,” Josiasse said. “Combine that with some excellent racing – that included late race passes for second place in the Thunder Car and the lead in the 4Fun main events – and you have a first-rate start to the biggest year in our history.”

Action returns to the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City on Saturday, May 27th. The home track Battlefield Equipment Rental 4Fun, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock and Thunder Car divisions will be joined by the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series, Ontario Pro Challenge and the OSCAAR Midgets and Pro Midgets. Pit gates will open at 2:00, with the spectator grandstands unlocked at 4:00 and the night’s first green flag at 5:00.

Looking ahead on the schedule to Saturday, June 3rd finds the year’s first Toonie Spectator Grandstand Admission/Fan Appreciation Night – presented by Pepsi – with a 50-lap main event for the Organics & Glass Late Models, 4Fun, Mini Stock and Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck fields; plus the Eastern Ontario Legends Series.
